NEW OFFICIAL ON-FIELD TRAINING

Individuals interested in becoming a women’s lacrosse official are required to attend a classroom clinic and participate in field training. Prior lacrosse experience is not required.

During on-field training, prospective officials will work with experienced trainers to learn how to officiate a game, and then will be evaluated to determine of if the individual has earned a rating. A rating is required to be certified as an umpire.

The focus of on-field training is to teach, support and encourage prospective umpires. You will be provided with a whistle, flag and set of penalty cards. There is no fee for on-field training.

Prospective official will participate in the following activities during on-field training:

Prospective officials will be contacted by email, after on-field training,
with written feedback and rating determination.
